Newsgush: Toni Iommi To Make Movies?

Black Sabbath took their name from a Boris Karloff movie. Now things have come around full circle as their legendary guitarist, Tony Iommi, has announced plans to hook up with producer Mike Fleiss – the producer of the Hostel movies and a whole host of ‘Worlds Blankiest Blank’ TV filler – to produce a series of horror movies.

According to the report, the films will be called Black Sabbath (imaginative) and Mr Iommi will be penning the soundtrack and conceiving the ideas behind the project.

Now, Tony Iommi may be one of the greatest guitarists of all time – responsible for an entire genre of music – but that doesn’t mean he’ll any good whatsoever at writing horror movies. The best I’m expecting is a sub-Garth Marenghi series of bargain basementers, with Iommi shoehorned in as a ‘Cryptkeeper’ character.

Horribly enough – I’m really looking forward to it.

Have you seen what Bill Ward looks like? Iommi spent years on a bus with that guy-surely qualifying him as an expert in tales of gibbering, cosmic horror
