Newsgush: Oasis Tantrums. Meh.

noel-gallagher-quits

So – Noel Gallagher has quit Oasis. A band that were culturally relevant about fifteen years ago, and have since produced a string of dishwater rock albums that failed to get anybody excited.

Noel claims “lack of support and understanding from my management and bandmates” as the main reason for leaving. Lack of support? For what? You’re IN THE BAND. Write a decent song or something. And it’s not like management have been dragging their feet booking them gigs.

More details have emmerged thought that point to the fact that Liam Gallagher was drunk and had a bit of an argument with his brother. About his fashion label.

It all sounds like the kind of thing that would happen between pissed up aunties at a wedding. Rock and roll it is not.

All I have to say is if you know nothing about something then don’t write about it!

You obviously spend little or no time gettting to know the details of the incident or indeed the dynamics of this band, which is difficult to comprehend since their are HUNDREDS of decent articles written about this incident in particular already.

The arguement was about Liam’s unprofessionalism by being drunk for a gig NOT his fashion label! And the lack of support of the management and bandmates of the band was them not sticking behind Noel when he confronted his brother. Everyone was too busy try to keep Liam happy, content, and calm instead of calling him on his unprofessional behavior.

Besides…apparently the fight came to blows AND Liam broke Noels guitar! So no it’s NOT what pissed aunties do @ a wedding…how about you stop talking out of your A$$!

As for your comments on their music…have you even LISTENED to anything more than a random single that they have put out since 1997? I don’t think so. Their last album charted @ #5 in the US and #1 in the UK as well as charting in the top 10 in a number of other countries. That is still pretty damn relevant.

Samantha, I’m glad you care that much.

    I don’t.

It certainly is relevant. It shows that top 10 chart music is almost always boring, generic, middle of the road rubbish, generally played by out of touch middle aged men who constantly repeat their earlier work, watering down an already hackneyed formula ad nauseum.
Oasis are, unfortunately, the new Status Quo. They started with a fresh, if contrived/targeted sound, riding the coat tails of lad culture, and unfortunately repeated it to death. And Liam is a pratt. Noel seems like a witty, affable enough bloke, but his music is a three chord dead end and has been for years.

Just been chatting to someone who saw them go down very badly at the V festival. So bad that Leem had a had at the audience at the end.
I like Noel, he writes a good tune and I like his attitude.
They’re nothing special anymore and using the fact that their last album made the top ten in America to prove their worth is a little naive. That is saying that every album to top ten is great, yes?
    Meh.
