The Smashing Pumpkins may well have become irrelevant around the time Billy Corgan began to look like Charlie Brown, but I still think they’re cool. Possibly because they embodied the Generation X slacker ethos better than anyone. If you were pissed off in the late 90s and couldn’t be bothered to do anything about it but watch movies ironically and wear plaid, there was almost certainly a Zero T shirt in your cupboard.

Rage Against The Machine Christmas Single Fun


Christmas is nearly here, and it’s time once again to look with horror at the likely Christmas number one. It is of course very likely that some Cowell automaton will be singing a cover of some sort to the delight of grannies and chavs and the general disinterest of everybody else.

However there is a grass roots campaign on Facebook and twitter to get angry teenager shout along favourite – Killing in the Name by Rage Against The Machine into the number one position with some synchronized buying.

Who Sampled Who?



You know when you’re listening to a song, and it’s got samples, but for THE LOVE OF GOD you can’t work out what song they came from? Well tear your hair out in frustration no more because WhoSampled is here to let you know just who is being sampled, remixed and covered. It;s pretty interesting, and I have spent a little too much time checking out various bands and then listening out for the samples on Spotify straight after. It’s addictive.

Everybody has sampled Funky Drummer by the way.
